Siga has been a nurse since 2007, gaining diverse experience that began in critical trauma care and then as a kidney transplant coordinator. In 2016, she became a nurse practitioner, initially practicing in nephrology and dialysis care. It was during this time that Siga discovered her true calling and passion for psychiatry, leading her to pursue a post-graduate certificate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from South College.
Siga holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland. She is particularly passionate about caring for individuals with dementia and supporting their families, aiming to provide comfort, safety, happiness, and an improved quality of life.
Her specialties include, but are not limited to: Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and vascular dementia, and other chronic illnesses. Siga’s approach to care is warm, collaborative, evidence-based, and patient-centered, ensuring that every individual receives the attention and treatment they deserve.
Outside of work, Siga enjoys spending time outdoors, whether riding mountain bikes, rock climbing, or fostering dogs for animal rescue organizations. These activities help her maintain a healthy work-life balance and recharge so she can be fully present for her clients and their families.
Siga is pleased to be working alongside Dr. Schor at Olney Psychiatry and is delighted to serve this unique patient population. She looks forward to the opportunity to work with you and your family.
